Since I became aware of the world around me, I have always been drawing in every corner of my life. I drew on the walls of my house, at school, and in the streets. There was always one recurring symbol in all my drawings: a heart that I would carve and sketch, while observing the Damascus tiles made of colorful stones that come together to form one tile. Each stone had its unique shape and color, and I would spend long hours watching them until I could find shapes like the sun or a face. This observation became my source of inspiration.
Drawing was a childhood obsession for me, and I would immerse myself in it without talking to anyone. My notebooks were filled with drawings only. Over time, each time I attempted to create a new painting or collection, I would be surprised by the result, as if I were discovering myself again. I later realized that I was drawing without any planning or true awareness of the action. I simply began, and my immediate feelings guided me. I never thought about what I was drawing, nor did I judge my work. I learned that my art was always connected to everything I lived. Every time I drew, it was a direct reflection of my reality, the events, and the emotions I had experienced.
That's why I began referring to my art as a form of writing my diaries, as everything I went through appeared on paper, on fabric, and through the artistic tools I used to create a scene that reflected my moments. This particular collection of works came after my separation from my partner in life, with whom I spent 11 years and shared a child. I would talk to myself, organizing my thoughts into drawings and symbols, using this process to understand my emotions, and to evolve with lines and colors.
I also began to see art as a way of living my life. Just as the seasons change from summer to fall and then winter, my life changes as well. This is why I chose to express this in my work through diverse storytelling, reflecting those ongoing changes.
